Toasted Coconut
This is a healthy, tasty and slightly crunchy topping that we use for ice cream, cakes and apple slices w/nut butter. It is a MUST HAVE ingredient in my granola too.
Toasting coconut gives it a nice crunchy texture!
Stovetop
I prefer to toast on the stove to so I can control how brown they get.
In a skillet toss the coconut flacks over medium high heat for up to 10 minutes.
Oven
Heat the oven to 350°F. Spread coconut flaks in a single layer on a cookie sheet. Bake for 5 to 10 minutes or until light golden brown. Stir occasionally. Watch them closely to avoid over cooking.
