My Favorite Pre/Post Workout Snack
I was listening to the Another Mother Runner podcast last year and learned of a yummy pre-workout snack that the Wasserman twins make. Their snack includes nut butter, dried cranberries, coconut oil , chocolate chips and honey/maple syrup. Inspired by this, I adapted this to use things that I am more likely to have in my kitchen. Feel free to use mine and the Wasserman recipe to inspire a version of your own. Just make sure to use all clean ingredients. I love how this quick snack really satisfies me. I will have it pre or post workout depending. It is something I can quickly pull together.
I have two versions of this – both are posted below:
Ingredients
- 1-2 tablespoons oatmeal (optionally toasted)
- 1 teaspoon coconut flakes (optionally toasted)
- 1 teaspoon dried cranberry
- 1 tablespoon natural nut butter
- drizzle of raw honey or maple sugar
or
- homemade granola
- 1 tablespoon natural nut butter
- drizzle of raw honey or maple sugar
Directions
Mix all of the ingredients in a small bowl and eat with a spoon.

This recipe has all 21 Day Fix friendly ingredients. You may want to limit the amount of nut butter to 1 or 2 teaspoons included to make sure your consumption is within your alotted amount.
